Mirage is a compositional arrangement of a Japanese folk tune prepared by Chih-Lin Chou in 2003 and in this version, it is for solo guzheng. Mirage is a word of many connotations including a sense of far-seeing, or seeing things on a different plane. In Chih-Lin's arrangement, she combines the senses of memory and those of a desert wind. The winds of time carry forth mysterious messages of things that may have happened in the past and carry with them a blurring of feelings and emotions resulting in an appreciation of the idea of nostalgia -- distant memory, an image, seen and heard momentarily, but in the memory forever.
