The opening line was inspired by the setting sun while I was vacationing in Cuba where I literally chased it down for a picture. Because many of my songs lean on the depressing or darker side, I wanted to write something with a little hope.

The music itself evolved when I found these interesting colours in the chords as I played my guitar and it all fell into place very quickly even when it came time to arranging it.

I often enjoy performing this song solo acoustic and it’s my personal favourite from my 2nd Album, “In My Elements.”

Lyrics

I chased the sunlight as it descended in the earth
And left me in shadows waiting alone until its rebirth
It’s been a while now walking with ghosts in my thoughts
It would be easy to let them haunt every moment I’ve got

CHORUS:
But (‘Cause) in the moonlight I dream of beginnings
And catch the stars as they fall ‘til the night resigns
Come daybreak I’ll wake without fear of doubt ‘ Cause I know I’ll be fine.
It may seem I’m falling down to the place where I bleed I will not be broken for I have faith I will land on my feet

[repeat CHORUS]
I’m not afraid to close my eyes and let this closing darkness wash over me
And I won’t try to run or hide ‘cause I know that it won’t last forever.

CHORUS 2:
And in the moonlight I dream of beginnings
And catch the stars as they fall ‘til the night resigns I’ll kindle the flame, let it burn away my sorrow
For tomorrow… When day breaks I’ll wake without fear of doubt ‘Cause I know I’ll be fine. ‘Cause I know I’ll be fine. Oh, I know I’ll be fine.
I am ready for when the sunlight reborns in me
