Bicycles are a huge part of Chinese culture and they are used widely as a means of transportation in China in daily living. To me, they also were like dear friends who would reliably take you from point A to point B! This song is allegory of a love story between a strong boy and a sweet girl … depicted through a rugged bicycle and its female rider!
Lyrics
Verse 1
His frame is sturdy; his wheels are dirty from the day just past
His will is strong but she can guide him with her arms and with her hands
Chorus
And wherever she desires is where he will take her
Over the mountains, over the stones
He is a mighty bicycle
Verse 2
His voice is fair to warn the people they are there; they are moving through
And he flies her fast on whichever path she wants to choose
Chorus
Verse 3 It’s been six years; he still checks if the traffic’s clear; he keeps her safe
And if she wavers, he’ll straighten out just for her; he’s so brave
Chorus (x2)
