Chang-yin Sun
Richmond Hill, Ontario
Chang-yin Sun was born in Wen Zhou City, Zhejiang, China. Prior to immigrating to Canada in 1988, Mr. Sun was the Fine Arts Editor for Wen Xue Qing Nian (Literary Youth) magazine. A winner of numerous awards, Mr. Sun has created a number of oil paintings and portraits currently collected by many art galleries and museums. His mural “Swan Lake” yielded him the title of “Outstanding Artist” by the Canadian Government.

Mr. Sun has written a number of books including “Chang Yin Sun’s water ink portrait of human body”, “Scratch of Human Body”, “How to Use of Palette Knife for Oil Painting” and “Chang Yin Sun Oil Painting Art”. Starting in 2006, Mr. Sun spent over a year researching, preparing and completing “Blood and Tear Century of Chinese Immigrants”; a gigantic oil painting depicting the hardship endured by the early Chinese immigrants to Canada.

Mr. Sun is currently the Vice Chair of the Chinese Canadian Fine Art Association, President of Canadian Contemporary Art Research Institute, and Honorary President of the Toronto Fine Art Institute.
