Jason S.W. Lem - Toronto, Ontario
Jason S.W. Lem, born and raised in suburbanToronto is completing his BA in Equity Studies and InternationalRelations at the University of Toronto. He has worked and volunteeredextensively in non-profit and social justice organizations, includingCCNC, OCASI, ACAS & others. He is the recipient of several awards –most notably the Arcus Endowment Award from the University ofCalifornia at Berkeley and the 2002 Chinese Canadian Pioneer YouthAward from CCNC. He is currently an intern at Asia-City Publishing andis studying on exchange at the University of Hong Kong. He will be backin Toronto in June 2005.

Letty Lam - Toronto, OntarioBorn in Hong Kong and raised in Toronto, Letty Lam has always enjoyed working in various media. Menswear has always fascinated her because it is a craft steeped in tradition, impeccable design and excellent construction. She is a formalist who believes that good design comes from the manipulation of fashion elements in pursuit of aesthetics, clarity of articulation and usability for the wearer. She hopes to have more opportunities for learning about industrial processes and technical designing after graduation, enabling her to work in various fields within the industry as a better designer.

Fusing Contemporary and Traditional Dance
Jeffrey Chan - Toronto, Ontario
Jeffrey Chan (choreographer, dancer) Jeffrey Chan studied Chinese dance in Hong Kong and modern dance at the London Contemporary Dance School in England. His works have been presented at different venues in Toronto. Solo works include: Temptation of the Monk, Lunar Traces, Letter from Home, and Visitors. His full-evening work Eight Tones was presented in 2000 to critical acclaim. I (Changes, in English), which was created as part of Converging Streams: Haiku, premiered in July 2003. The piece was also presented at the Soo Ryu Korean Dance Festival in the autumn of 2003.
JeffreyChan founded the Wu Ming Dance Project in 1995. The goal of the organization is to express Asian philosophies and contemporary social identities through the exploration of Chinese traditional and modern dance movements.

Singer-Songwriter Sensation
Moulann - Toronto, OntarioBorn in Taiwan and raised in Toronto, singer-songwriter Moulann has struck a chord with audiences from virtually every age bracket, ethnic group and social background with her strikingly emotive voice and “from-the-heart” performances. Her debut album, Introflective (2003), has drawn outstanding positive feedback from the arts community and supportive listeners from all over the world. An accomplished musician, she graduated with honours from York University’s music program, where she studied classical piano performance and contemporary piano improvisation. With a fluidly evolving sound that reflects her dedication to meaningful musical expression, Moulann refreshingly maintains a positive yet unique representation of Asian-Canadians in the music industry. |
