Project Coordinator (Student):
Anticipatory, Full-time and Part-Time
4 month contract: May 2, 2005 to September 2, 2005 (may be extended)

The Chinese Canadian National Council (CCNC) is a national non-profit organization whose mandate is to promote the equitable participation of all in Canadian society. The CCNC is seeking to develop a list of qualified Project Coordinators to work with the Executive Director, the National Executive Committee, CCNC chapters, and the Chinese Canadian community, to promote and realize the mandate of the CCNC.

Job Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for working on the planning, implementation and evaluation of ongoing projects and activities undertaken by the CCNC.

The Project Coordinator will be the primary person responsible for: coordinating CCNC projects under the guidance of the Executive Director; conducting direct outreach, research, public education, community consultation, focus groups and resource development activities; maintaining and organizing documentation of all relevant project activities and preparing project reports; recruiting, training, supervising and coordinating volunteers for the project activities; assisting in special events coordination; and other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Skills/Qualifications:

Must be a post-secondary student planning to return to school in the fall Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism, access, and equity issues Experience as a facilitator of small groups an asset Demonstrated records management training and skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer skills in word processing and database management; IT skills an asset Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time, with flexible hours (including weekends) when required Written and oral fluency in English Additional assets: Written Chinese and oral fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese, French language fluency , and financial and accounting knowledge

Salary: $10 to $13 per hour

Hours of Work: 21 to 35 hours per week
