The Canadian Pacific Railway was the realization of a dream to connect Canada from coast to coast. It played a significant role in Canadian history by encouraging the Pacific Colony to join confederation. In total, approximately 15,700 Chinese were recruited to work on the CPR. It was the Chinese who helped to link Canada form coast to coast, leaving tracks built on hard work, determination and perseverance for later generations to follow.
