During this period (1914-1945), world events galvanized the Chinese Canadian Communities. The contribution and patriotism shown by the Chinese Canadians during both world wars were heroic. Together the communities raised millions in war relief funds and victory bonds. A large number of Chinese Canadians also fought in both wars and women held fundraisers and knitted sweaters for soldiers.
